SMESH started to involve in Robotic in 2005. The principle of the school Mr. Wahid bin Haji Kapal purchased two sets of RCX robotic kit from the Tilts Corporation. Training for the robot was conducted by Mr. Tan Hin Long, the teacher in charge of the robotic program. There are lake of guildance and reference material in robotic for school. SMESH participated in the first Robotic competition in 2006. Two teams were sent to the competition which took place at La Salle Secondary School, Kota Kinabalu. The teams brought their challenge in the senior high school category. The SMESH teams were trained by an external trainer Mr. Choo Chee Wee, a robotic student from Multimedia University. In this competition, the SMESH teams lost due to lack of experience and training. However, the students gained a very good experience and knowledge something which are very useful for them in the future.
